Funerals and respect

Me and my husband were on our way to town today when we passed a hearse and a line of cars going to a funeral. I pulled over to the side of the road. We have always done that here as long as I can remember. My husband says he never saw that happen up north. He is from Flint and I expect you can’t really do that in big cities because there no room to pull over some places. He says he doesn’t remember seeing it happen even outside the cities. Maybe it is a southern thing. It seems to me to just be common courtesy, a gesture of respect for those who are mourning. A good thing.
