I bought a couple of Hormel® Refrigerated Entrees the other day because my stepson said they were good and easy to fix. This is the first time I had ever tried them.
They come in small sealed packages that you can just stick in the microwave for 4 minutes(8 minutes if frozen). They don’t even need to be vented because the seal is made to expand. The cardboard cover also has a couple of different recipes printed on the inside. That is good if you need some help with meal planning.
This one had three pieces of chicken. They looked awfully small to me. Turns out that each piece is pretty much perfectly sized for dieting and only 120 calories. That includes the gravy mind you. If you put some sweet peas and cream potatoes and rolls with it you have a full meal.
It tasted really good too. The chicken was tender and the gravy had a great flavor. It made an excellent and very easy meal. Which is great for me because I never know when/if I need to cook a regular meal. If no one is going to be here to eat it is just a waste to make a big meal. If my husband actually gets home in time to eat here then I want to make something that doesn’t take forever to cook. So I really really like these refrigerated entrees.
They have several different kinds of entrees as well. Besides the chicken there is meat loaf, roast beef, turkey breast, Salisbury steak, and pork chops. I am going to have to try them all eventually. My next one is going to be the roast beef.
If you become a member of their site you can download some coupons for Hormel products. I have no idea if those coupons are available elsewhere or not.
