I was sent the Prefense 1.5 oz bottle of hand sanitizer for review. This product is alcohol free. I like that. It doesn’t dry your skin like regular sanitizers do. It doesn’t have that sharp smell to it either…and it didn’t make me sneeze! The alcohol based sanitizers I have used before almost always make me sneeze.
The Prefense sanitizer is silica based. It has very little smell at all and what smell there is seemed pleasant to me. It contains soothing botanicals that help fight drying and chapping. It did not dry my hands out and I really liked that.
They say the active ingredient forms a film that stays on your hands all day and keeps on protecting you from germs. I have no way of verifying that myself as I don’t have a medical laboratory in my kitchen. I did google the active ingredient and it is supposed to be a really good sanitizer.
Whether it really does last all day or through 10 hand washings…I don’t know but even if it doesn’t it is still an improvement on the old ones. I never remembered to use the sanitizers except when I was doing something to remind me…like cleaning the chicken coop!
Their brochure says Prefense is kid-safe. It is non-toxic. It is a fun foaming sanitizer that kids will love putting on their hands. I liked the foam myself. And if they happen to wipe their hands on their clothes (or yours) before it dries it won’t stain the clothing. As there is no alcohol in it it is also not flammable. Which makes it safe to keep in the kitchen for protection from germs when you are cooking!
They have just come out with a Prefense Combo Pack (available only on their website) which includes Sanitizing Wipes and a 1.5 oz bottle of sanitizer for $7.99

I think this is the greatest stuff ever. I have OCD so I have to have clean hands at all times. This is great for someone like me that has horribly dry hands from cleaning them.

I really love this product!!! We have a lot of home health aids in our home and I always worry about the germs they bring in!

I love that Prefense doesn’t dry out your hands…and is alcohol-free! Honestly, I would use the hand sanitizers I have more often if they didn’t dry out my skin so badly. I already fight dry skin; I don’t need something that makes it worse. Prefense sounds awesome!
