The Christmas Town By Elyse Douglas Review

The Christmas Town by Elyse Douglas cover. The Christmas Town was a really good read. It was especially good to read it just before Christmas when we were having a winter storm.

The main characters in the story get lost in a winter storm just before Christmas! It was neat to be all snugged into the recliner reading about them trying to get home.

This is a fantasy/romance with a bit of adventure and mystery. The characters cross an old bridge while lost in a storm and end up going back in time to the early 1940’s during WWII.

The romance happens when they meet two soldiers back then.  Part of the mystery is figuring out how they got there and how to get back. Another part is finding out who stole their car and getting it back.

This is a good read at any time but if you can grab a copy and read it before Christmas it is bound to add to your Christmas spirit!

About the book :

Traveling home for Christmas, two young women in the 20s are forced to drive together during a snowstorm. They get lost and cross a covered bridge. Suddenly, they find themselves in a picturesque Vermont town in 1943.

They meet two handsome soldiers, who are about to be sent off to war. They fall in love, while also struggling to find a way back to their own time.

On Christmas Eve, with the soldier’s help, the two women finally have one chance to go home. They are caught between their love for the soldiers and their desire to return to the present. At the last moment, they must make a difficult decision, but because it is Christmas, a miracle happens.
