Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops have been around since 1870. Back then they were called Pine Brothers Glycerine Tablets.
They were invented and sold by J. Herman Pine in his confectionery shop in Philadelphia.
He had a sore throat and being a confectionist he knew how to combine ingredients that would taste good with soothing glycerin and healing gum acacia.
In 1930 the company was sold and ended up being sold several more times over the years. The drops were eventually manufactured overseas and fewer and fewer of them were sold.
Then not too long ago Victoria Knight-McDowell bought Pine Brothers for her new company 3 Sisters Home Products™ and made sure that the original recipe was found and used.
The packaging was also redesigned and given a classic new look.
Best of all these wonderful soothing throat drops are being produced in the United States!
You can get them in three flavors currently : Natural Honey, Wild Cherry, and Licorice.
These drops are soft, sort of like gummy bears and they taste really good. I like the Natural Honey best but the Wild Cherry are good too. I have not tried the Licorice.
They work really well for any kind of throat irritation not just sore throat. I have allergies and get that awful tickle in the throat that makes me want to cough constantly and these drops really help.
You do have to be careful though or you will end up eating them like candy. Yep they taste that good! They have 5 calories per drop and are not recommended for children under 3(consult your doctor).
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
