The Weary Traveler Returns

The weary traveler returns after a very long trip.  The trip was to Michigan. Only the lower part of Michigan though. The highest we got was Saginaw. That took more than 12 hours of driving. Not sure how much more than 12 hours as we also stopped for refueling both ourselves and the car.

A very long and stressful drive for me. Being a country girl and not used to city or even highway driving. The drivers in some of those cities must be totally nuts. They seem to have no idea that they are actually pushing around several thousand pounds of metal.

A few of them seem to think that a little bitty 4 wheel pile of metal can take on a huge 18 wheel pile of metal and win. There is no wonder the death rate from traffic accidents is still high. The vehicle manufacturers have done a lot to help…but I can’t think of anything they can do to cure stupidity.

Upon arriving home one of the first things we did was turn on the computers. And guess what? No internet!! The cable company should be extremely grateful that their offices are 15 miles away. As it was all they got was a phone call. If they don’t get their act together though…I have a great source of rotten tomatoes!

I will be posting a few things about the trip later. Right now I need to check my email. It is probably full. Three days without my computer. No blogging. No email. It was awful. And wonderful. I’m glad to be home.

  1. I'm glad you survived the driving. I would have a hard time without internet, but it was probably good to take a little break. :)

  2. I'm not sure I could survive with 3 days without the internet! I hear you on scary drivers on the road as well… glad you made it safely.

Thanks so much for joining us for Friendly Friday, have a great weekend!

  3. I'm laughing about the rotten tomatoes! I can visualize it now LOL LOL.. I know I can't imagine being away from the computer 3 days. I remember when my last computer broke down I had to go to an internet cafe until I got a new one lol. Thank goodness I didn't have my blog then. Glad you arrived home safely. It is true isn't it. There is no place like home!
