Inky Trail News is a print newsletter for pen pals although it does come in PDF format as well. This newsletter has been published for 20 years now. I got to review the July/August 2011 edition in PDF format. It was 23 pages long and had some great articles in it.
One of the articles was from a writer who loves to read and offered a few suggestions on how to make reading even more fun. One of her suggestions was to have a story party. A great idea!
There were articles from people in Oregon, Kansas, Oklahoma, Illinois, and other states in the U.S. There were also articles from England, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. One contained a recipe!
I loved the article about how one reader got into pen palling. It reminded me of some pen pals I had when I was younger. I never managed to stick with it for more than a year or so though. Some of these folks have been writing to their pen pals for more than 20 years!
The newsletter contains lists of folks who are looking for pen pals too. If you are interested in finding a pen pal or know someone who might be interested this would be a great resource. Some of them provide email addresses as well so it doesn’t always have to be a snail mail friendship.
She is also having a writer contest where you can win a years subscription to the newsletter. You can also get two free PDF issues just for entering! Almost all the entries involve writing so that would also be a good way to practice writing!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
