Cover picture of Hear Your Life by Melissa K. Rodriguez.Hear Your Life by Melissa K. Rodriguez is an excellent book about hearing loss and hearing aids.

It has a lot of information about hearing loss, how the ear works, how hearing aids work, and how having hearing aids can make a huge difference in your life.

My own hearing loss was discovered when I started school and failed the hearing test they give each year. I was sent to an audiologist and it was determined that I had a sensorineural hearing loss.

This kind of hearing loss is permanent but hearing aids can and do help. Especially since the new digital hearing aids have come out.

I have worn hearing aids all my life. Without them I would not have been able to go to a regular school or to college. They make a huge difference in the quality of life. I can say that for sure because an ear infection prevented me from wearing them for a while and I can say that truly sucks!

This book contains many stories of people like me. Some of them got hearing aids and improved their lives. Some did not. The difference in quality of life between those who chose to hear and those who didn’t is really sad.

If you or a friend or family member is starting to have problems with your hearing. Please seek help. If you are scared then read this book first! After reading this book I’m pretty sure you(or your family member) will be ready to get your quality of life back.

From the front cover flap :

Imagine waking up in a world of silence. You may see the world going on around you, but there is no laughter of a child, no bird singing, and no soothing sound of the ocean as its waves gently tickle the shore.

It is believed that at least ten percent of the world’s population suffers from some level of hearing loss. Children, adults, seniors—hearing loss does not discriminate and will cause a student to struggle to learn, a businessman to lose a sale, and a retired couple to withdraw from a life that could have great meaning.

Many don’t seek help because they don’t notice the gradual onset. Others try to deny the loss and live with it, not realizing its dramatic effect on their quality of life.

In Hear Your Life, you’ll learn how to avoid these adverse effects. Expert Melissa K. Rodriguez shares revealing and inspirational stories about the life-changing benefits of hearing aids. She answers commonly asked questions about the causes of, signs of, and types of hearing loss. She explains the importance of safe volume levels, duration of sound exposure, and how to protect your hearing. And a short questionnaire will help you determine if and how frequently you should have your hearing checked.

If you are ready to live your life to the fullest, Hear Your Life can help!
