I had never heard of a Kudo Knife before but the picture looks nice and my husband loves knives of all sorts. He collects them. He looks for them at yard sales and flea markets and any other store he goes into.
He had not seen any knives like this one either. According to Swords Of The East this type of knife is very popular in South Africa but is usually not so well made.
This Cold Steel Kudo Knife is made with a Krupp 4116 stainless steel flat ground blade which has been heat treated so it will hold it’s edge better and be easier to sharpen. It is REALLY sharp.
The knife turned out to be bigger than I expected. I know it says on the page exactly how long it is but I still didn’t realize how bit it is.
The locking mechanism has been tested to make sure it stay open until the ring is pulled and the handle has a wood grain texture for traction.
My husband used it around the house a few times and decided to take it out to the farm with him. He has used it out there for a bit (cutting twine on bales, opening feed bags, whatever else needs cutting) and he says it is a really sturdy knife.
He says the ring is a bit hard to pull to close the knife but that just means you can’t do it accidentally and end up cutting your fingers off.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
