Coffee Dates From Hell is another funny book from Jim Tilberry. It is similar to his last book Revenge of the Vegetarian in that he manages to find something strange and hilarious in what many people consider a normal everyday happening.
In this book that strange and hilarious everyday happening is the Coffee Date.
I’ve only ever been on one coffee date in my life and it went better than any of the ones in this book but after reading this I’m thinking I was probably very lucky.
There are so many things that can go wrong on a coffee date. You can get spit on, spilt on, and spurned. And that is not even considering having to listen to someone talk for 20 minutes(or however long you can stand it) about something you have no interest in (if you even have a clue what they are talking about).
There are some really funny encounters in this book .
Albert Einstein meets Barbara in a doughnut shop just after she has had oral surgery and a hilarious conversation ensues(mainly because she can’t talk).
A modern woman meets King Henry VIII and the conversation about his married life tickled me.
This would be a great book to read after you have had a bad date….unless your date was REALLY bad the book will make you feel much better!
Of course it would be a good read any time but really good when you are needing something to perk you up.
I liked it.
I received a free copy of the book to review.
