The picture of this MIRA Touch Professional Digital Kitchen Scale was so pretty! The top actually looks like a mirror and is made of tempered glass which is 4 times stronger than regular glass.
The actual scale looks better than the pictures. The really great thing about it is you can get it to match your kitchen (probably) since it comes in several different colors.
I got a black one because my counter tops and most appliances are black. It looks pretty nice on the counter.
It has a Tare function that ignores plates or other dishes so you can weigh the contents easy. Just put the bowl on and touch the button and it removes the weight of the bowl. Then add your items and you have an accurate weight!
I found out when using this scale that I really had no idea how much 2 lbs was. Or one pound for that matter. The recipe for onion soup that I had been trying to make called for 2 lbs of onions and I had not been putting nearly enough of them in there. After using the scale the soup finally got enough onions and it turned out really good.
I also found out that having a scale makes storing meat a lot easier.
I freeze meat and like to have it in 1 lb increments because that is all we really need (just two of us). I did it the way I had been and weighed the meat and some of them were almost a half lb off! That won’t happen again!
The scale works for up to 11 lbs and can be changed to metric if you prefer.
It comes with a 2 year warranty AND the batteries are included! I liked that a lot. I hate getting items and having to hunt down batteries to make it work.
I am loving this kitchen scale. It makes measuring for recipes a lot easier and it is easy to clean.
