We have a flat screen TV that is capable of playing high definition video and audio but we still had the old connectors on it.
Mainly because I wasn’t really sure that having HDMI cables on there would make a big difference and of course spending money for something you are not sure is worth it seems like a waste. I would much rather buy books you know.
Then of course the folks at Solid Cordz sent me some of their Premium Series Gold Plated High Speed HDMI® Cables with Ethernet.
I am here to tell you these HDMI cables make a huge difference. The picture on the TV (watching movies) is sooo much better. My husband says the sound is better but I can’t tell (the captions show up better though).
We did have a bit of a problem with figuring out how to use them. We got them on the TV and the video player with no trouble but them we couldn’t figure out how to actually watch the movie.
We thought the cables must be on there wrong at first but then my hubby checked the remote and changed the setting over to the HDMI and everything worked just great. We sure felt silly for a while.
These cables are really nice.
Some of the features of the cables are :
• HDMI® Ethernet Channel – The HDMI 1.4 specification adds a data channel to the HDMI® connection, enabling high-speed, bi-directional communication. Connected devices that include this feature can send and receive data via 100 Mb/sec Ethernet, making them instantly ready for any IP-based application.
• Audio Return Channel – The new specification adds an audio channel that will reduce the number of cables required to deliver audio “upstream” from a TV to an A/V receiver for processing and playback. In cases where a TV features an internal content source, such as a built-in tuner or DVD player, the Audio Return Channel allows the TV to send audio data upstream to the A/V receiver via the HDMI cable, eliminating the need for an extra cable.
• 3D Support – The 1.4 version of the specification defines common 3D formats and resolutions for HDMI-enabled devices, enabling 3D gaming and other 3D video applications.
• 4K Resolution Support – The new specification enables HDMI devices to support extremely high HD resolutions, effectively four times the resolution of a 1080p device. Support for 4K allows the HDMI interface to transmit digital content at the same resolution as the state-of-the-art Digital Cinema systems used in many movie theaters.
I am so glad we got these. My husband is a movie buff and he loves to watch movies. He also likes to watch football and he says the picture and sound are much better.
These cables are also for gaming systems and I’m pretty sure any game would be improved by the use of them. Especially online multi-player games where lag can make a huge difference.
If you don’t have HDMI cables or if you have the older ones you should really think about getting some of these newest ones. They could improve your experience a lot.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
