It does need a firm, fairly flat surface to stick to, but that surface can be made out of pretty much anything. Surfaces it can stick to include: plastic, metal, glass, rubber, and silicon.
This mount can hold your phone with no problem but it can also hold other things such as navigators and tablets.
I stuck the mount on my back door and put my Kindle Paperwhite on it just to see how well it would work.
The mount has a suction cup on the bottom that holds it to the surface. The sticky part where you put your phone (or whatever), is really sticky.
My Kindle stuck to it with no problem. I took it out to my car and stuck the mount on the window and put my Kindle on it too. It worked just as well there. I meant to take a picture of a phone on it but never managed to take my husbands phone away from him long enough.
I figure if the sticky will hold a Kindle it will hold a phone even better, because the phone is not as heavy.
The sticky part (where you put your phone) can be rotated 360°, so you can pretty much turn it however you need to. I thought about just using it at the table to hold my kindle up. I know that seems lazy but if you are doing something (crochet, knitting, eating) and need your hands free while reading, it would work pretty well.
If the sticky part loses it’s stickiness, you can just wash it off with water, and it will be sticky again.
The folks at IGotTech are so sure you will love this Sticky Mount that they are offering a double guarantee: if you have any problems with it for two years they will refund your purchase and send you a new unit free of charge.
