Swagbucks Is Easier Than I Expected

Swagbucks logo.I finally joined Swagbucks a few days ago. I hadn’t joined it before because I had the notion that it was one of those things where they send you heaps of emails and you have to to do hundreds of surveys.

It isn’t like that at all. At least so far. They have only sent me three emails, including the confirmation. I could probably get them to send me more if I changed my settings, but I’m happy with this.

It also has a lot of different ways to earn Swagbucks. I have only done the easy things so for, like the daily polls which are very short polls, that take only a minute or two to do.

I have spent at most 20 minutes a day on the site (maybe less). I would have already gotten enough to get my first Amazon.com gift card, but I couldn’t resist spending some of my bucks to enter giveaways.

I can watch the videos they have on there at the same time I am going through and deleting spam emails.  Easy!

I figure if I get $10 worth of  Gift Cards each month, which I am well on the way to getting already, I won’t have to worry about paying for the books I want. Then again I could save up some for Christmas shopping.

Decisions.  Decisions.

Nah. I’m buying books!

If you are thinking about signing up I’d appreciate it if you use my referral link (all the links in this post) because if you do I will get some extra Swagbucks, which means I can get those books faster, which will make me very happy.

Famous Footwear Back-To-School BOGO

Famous Footwear Back-To-School BOGO

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Famous Footwear for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

FF-BiggestVictory-GIF_300x250(1).jpg It's almost time for kids to be heading back to school.  In fact we only have about two weeks left to get them all set up with everthing they need for school. Including new shoes!

Which makes this a wonderful time for Famous Footwear to have a sale. Not only can you Buy One Get One Half Off but untill August 18th you can get a coupon for 15% off too! That is a really great deal.

And if you join their Rewards program(or are already a memeber) you can get 20% off. Just print your BOGO + 15% off Famous Footwear Coupon and take it to the store with you or if ordering online use the promo code on the coupon.

They will order shoes for you too if you can't find the ones you want in the store. They will have them shipped to your home or you can order online and have the shoes shipped to your local store for pickup with NO shipping charges!

This is a great deal for anyone and especially families with several kids to outfit this year.  I have four grandkids with two in school this year and it can get very expensive to outfit them.

The rewards program is pretty good too. Besides the extra 5% discount on the coupon for signing up now you also:

• Earn 1 point for every $1 you spend in-store or online
• Accumulate points to earn certificates up to $100 a year
• Discount offer just for signing up
• Other special inside discounts and perk

So go get your coupon and do some back to school shopping before the 18th of August. You could save quite a bit of money.

How Do You Keep Your Feet Warm In A Refrigerated Area?

I’m looking for some advice and tips on how to keep your feet warm if you are working in a cold room or refrigerated area.

Workers are also required to wear rubber boots that can be easily sanitized. So that means the feet can sweat even if it is cold.

I remember a book that suggested putting Vaseline on the feet to help keep them dry. Not sure that would be a great idea.

I tried looking for suggestions online and found a few hiking/hunting sites that suggest wearing silk sock liners. I have never heard of these. Does anyone know anything about them? Do they actually work?

If so then that would be a good solution unless they are really expensive.  Hopefully one of the local stores carry some too otherwise it will take a few days for them to be shipped.

So do any of you know anything about these sock liners? Do you know of something that might work better?

Thanks for any suggestions! The feet will be very grateful!

Walgreens Dropped By Express Scripts Inc

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Express Scripts Inc is a company that acts as a middleman between pharmacies and the employer health plans that pay for medications. Walgreens and Express Scripts have been negotiating for the past year over the contract that would keep Walgreens in the Express Scripts pharmacy network.

As of January 1 all Walgreens nation wide have been removed from the Express Scripts provider network.

This also affects Tricare which is the prescription drug program for America’s military service people and their families. Walgreens had offered to negotiate the Tricare contract separately from other Express Scripts business to help keep military personnel from being inconvenienced.  That offer was not accepted.

What this means is that customers with certain prescription insurance plans managed by Express Scripts can no longer get prescriptions at Walgreens if they want to use their in-network insurance coverage. Many customers are having to drive farther and shop at inconvenient times.

To help customers during the transition, Walgreens is offering a discount on its annual membership fees to the  Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens through January 31. An individual can join the club during this time for only $5 and a family for $10.  Regular membership fees are $20 per person and $35 per family.

The club offers savings on more than 8000 brand name and all generic medications. Many generic medicines are available in 3 month supplies for less than a $1 a week.

You can follow Walgreens on Twitter and “like” Walgreens on Facebook if you wuld like to keep updated on the situation or just support Walgreens.

Holiday Themed Zenni Optical Frames

Holiday Themed Zenni Optical Frames

Holiday themed Zenni Optical Frames are coming to town! Zenni Optical makes cheap eyeglasses for everyday use. They also have some frames that come in festive holiday colors!

My favorites are these pretty green frames :Green eyeglass frames.

They have some red ones and some silvery ones too! Of course there are lots of other colors as well but those seem to me to be the ones most suitable for the holidays. If you like blue or purple however…you can find frames to suit! Go look for yourself and let us know what you find!

These would make nice stocking stuffers for just about anyone who wears glasses. Especially reading glasses.

They are very affordable as you can get some for as low as 6.95! And all thier glasses come with anti-scratch coating, full UV protection, a protective case, and microfiber cleaning cloth.

The shipping is reasonable too. USA shipping for an entire order is 4.95(international is 9.95) and if your order is more than $50 the shipping is free in the US!

Zenni can do this by cutting out the middleman and having practically no advertising budget. They only manufacture and sell their own brand Zenni.

This is really great because you can spend the money you save on glasses (that you HAVE to have) on something that you WANT. The last time my husband got glasses they cost well over 200 dollars…if we known about Zenni at the time we could have spent less than half that! We could have spent that money on Christmas presents for our grand-kids.

We will know better next time. And now so will you!

Holiday Wish List Savings

Everyone wants Savings, especially when shopping for the holidays.  The more money you can save on each item, the more things  on your wish list you can mark off! And of course your kids wish lists, not to mention your husbands.

Savings.com can be very helpful with that. You can save money on flowers, Christmas decorations, party favors, gifts, and anything else you need for the Holidays. Even groceries for Christmas dinner!

I found some codes for discounts on power tools. Which might mean my hubby will get his biggest wish list item this year. They have glassware deals too, which is on my wishlist.

And for those other occasions like birthdays and valentines day there are the jewelry store codes and of course the flower shop discounts!

You can save money on items you buy every day too.  They have codes for beauty and personal care items. There are codes for dollars of toothpaste and toothbrushes! They even have savings codes for diapers.

They have coupons and codes for deals on books too. Even textbooks for college. I wish we had known about this when my husband was taking classes. We could have spent a lot less on his books.

You can search for particular items or your favorite stores and brands.  You can even search for deals in your area. There were a couple of restaurant dollars off deals in my area.

Savings.com  is a great place to find deals and discount codes. Check it out before your next shopping trip.

Bathroom Vanities Only

Bathroom Vanities Only is an online store that sells vanities for bathrooms. The shipping is free within the  contiguous United States. For Alaska and Hawaii you have to call for a quote.

They have some truly lovely vanities.  The double sink antique styles would be perfect for the bathroom in my grandmothers house.  They have lots of small single sink styles for smaller bathrooms too.

They have so many vanities that you can spend a whole afternoon looking at the pictures. Go see for yourself!

Certificates of Deposit

Certificates of Deposit are basically time deposits. You put your money in the bank for a fixed amount of time and after that time you can either get your money and the interest it has earned or have it rolled over into a new CD.

The interest rate on certificates of deposit is usually(not always so be sure to check!) higher than on savings accounts. They are also covered by Federal Deposit Insurance just like savings accounts so they are just as safe as savings accounts.

There is usually a minimum deposit amount. Some banks have them for as low as $500 but usually the minimum is $1000 or more. The highest interest rates are on the most expensive certificates(with some exceptions).

If you withdraw the money early there is a penalty so you should not use these for emergency funds. They should only be used if you are certain you won’t need the money till the certificate matures.

My grandmother had a lot of these. She laddered then so one was coming due every year. That is a good way to use them but be careful! Make sure you won’t need more than what is coming due that year. The penalties can really hurt.

These can be wonderful investments for goals where you don’t want to take any risks of losing the money but would like to earn more interest than on a savings account. They are great to have as part of a portfolio of different investments.

Aurorabankfsb offers certificates of deposit to help customers build a solid financial future. They offer some of the most competitive interest rates in the marketplace, a wide range of account terms, low minimum deposit, automatic renewal at maturity, and FDIC insurance.
