Clear Window Bird Feeder From Yellow Beaks

Clear Window Bird Feeder from Yellow Beaks. This little clear bird feeder from Yellow Beaks is nice. It is made of sturdy clear plastic. The company says it weights about 1 lb and is 9.6 x 5.9 x 6.6 inches.

It is a fair sized bird feeder.

It comes with three big suction cups that attach to the window.  I thought it might not stay up good but it has been in my window for almost two weeks now and we have not had any problems with it.

There have not been any big storms since I put it up though. The last storm came through just before I put the feeder in our window. As you can see in this picture that storm took down the big tree in our front yard. Well most of it…the rest had to be cut down.

The bird feeder in my window.

This is a really neat feeder. You can see right through it so any birds that come up to eat the seeds will be easy to watch.

The suction cups fit into little notches. You can take the feeder down without taking the suction cups off the window.

So if there is any bird poop build up I can just take it down and clean it up and put it right back on there.

The feeder is supposed to be squirrel proof. I haven’t seen any squirrels come on the porch lately so I dunno about that.  It would probably depend on where you put the feeder. On our porch a squirrel might be able to jump on it from the railing. I guess we will find out eventually.

I like this bird feeder.  My grandmother would have loved this. She loved to feed the birds and sit and watch them. A feeder right on the window would have been really great.

If you have a family member confined to the house for some reason…get one of these for the window of their room.

Watching the birds can provide a lot of entertainment. It cheers me up.

Find Stains With A Blacklight FlashLight

Disclosure: I received a free product to review.

Blacklight Flashlight package. This little handheld Blacklight Flashlight from UV Sight is really neat.

The ultra violet light will make urine stains show up so you can see where you pets have been doing their business. Or not doing it.

This is really great if you suspect your pet has been urinating where he isn’t supposed to but you haven’t been able to actually catch him in the act.

And unless the urine is still wet or is on something that shows stains real easy you won’t be able to tell later. Except you can smell it.

This little flashlight will help. One good thing about this flashlight is that it is small and easy to hold. It is not heavy either.

The batteries are included! That is really nice. Not having to hunt down the batteries to put in it makes it easier to use.

The ultra violet light shows older stains too. Even after a couple of years. That is if the urine soaked into something. My grandmothers dogs used to pee in the same spot all the time and even though we did a lot of cleaning the smell still lingered.

Using this flashlight we managed to find exactly where the stains were. It seems there is no way to get rid of them without taking up part of the flooring. The urine just soaked in and saturated the whole thing apparently. But at least now we know the entire floor doesn’t need to come up which will save us a lot of work and some money too.

I now also know for sure that my male dog is NOT doing his business on the furniture. That made me very happy!

This is a really good item to have around the house if you have pets (especially if you are house training).

Be careful not to shine it in your eyes as UV light can cause damage.

Abandoned Is An Ugly Word

Merriam-Webster definition:

aban·doned adjective \ə-ˈban-dənd\

: left without needed protection or care

: left by the owner

: no longer held or thought of : given up

Full Definition of ABANDONED:

1: wholly free from restraint

2: given up : forsaken

Ugly it is.

Picture of an abandoned room.

And sad too.

Picture of an abandoned and starving dog.

It doesn’t really matter what you are talking about…rooms, buildings, animals, or children. Marriages and families…hopes and dreams.

It is sad to see something abandoned.

It is particularly bad when it is a living thing though. Especially pets and children. They are so trusting and just do not understand why they have been discarded like old clothes or trash.

They may not realize it but the people doing the abandoning are damaging themselves just as much. It will come back to haunt them eventually. Especially if they abandoned their families.

That seems to be happening more and more these days too. I guess folks think that once they are divorced the kids are no longer their problem.

Abandoned dreams are sad too. Especially those where people think they are too old. People in their 90s are going back to school and getting college degrees. People in their 70s and 80s are entering marathons and doing lots of other things you would think that only young folks could do.

It is never too late for a dream. It might have to be modified a bit…after all it is unlikely that a 50 year old (or older) is going to win a gold medal in the Olympics (at least not for something that requires great physical ability) but there might be other ways to make a dream of being an athlete come true.

Don’t just give up.

And please don’t abandon any living thing. Except of course for toxic people…they may deserve it. Maybe.

Elimay Pain Care For Dogs

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Elimay Pain Care softgel bottle.Elimay Pain Care is an all natural nutritional supplement for dogs.

These are safe supplements for your dog as Elimay has been awarded the National Canine Cancer Foundation Seal of Approval.

As you can see in the picture below (click on it-goes to media page-click again to enlarge) these soft gels contain Turmeric(Curcuma Ionga , Boswellia(Boswellia serrata), and D,L-Phenylalanine(DLPA). These ingredients are non-toxic and non-addictive.

Picture of the Elimay Pain Care label.

All of those ingredients help reduce inflammation and pain.

That is especially good for dogs with arthritis or other muscle or bone pain.  It can be a real help for dogs suffering from cancer.

Two of our dogs are starting to have problems. The big one definitely has arthritis in her hips according to the Veterinarian, who said she might end up not being able to use her back legs eventually.

Our smaller dog has hurt herself a couple of times and limped around for a days. She is almost eight years old now and will likely have more injuries and possibly arthritis too.

The larger dog had an abscess recently and was given these Elimay Pain Care soft-gels along with her other  treatments.

I could not get her to just take the tabs and chew them but she seemed to like the taste when it was put on her food.  The soft-gels have a twist off end. Once the end is off you just squeeze the contents out on the dog food.Picture of Elimay Twist Offs. The supplements seemed to help. Our dog was getting more lively after just a day or so and she seems to be moving easier now. I actually saw her running again a few days ago and it had been a long time since she tried to chase our car.

I had thought she was just getting old but it was apparently the pain in her hips that kept her from running.

If you have an old dog or a dog with any kind of painful conditions (including Cancer) you should consider trying Elimay Pain Care.

It could make a big difference.

You can follow Elimay on Facebook and Twitter for more information and news about canine health care.

Give Your Pets Some Relief From Achy Paws™

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Achy Paws Self Heating MatTwo of my dogs are getting older and the oldest female has hurt herself a couple times this year already. I’m not sure how it happened the first time but the second time it was from running after the younger dog.

Then we found out a week or so ago that another one of our dogs has arthritis in her hips and might end up going lame eventually.

Even if they don’t have arthritis or hurt themselves pets get aches and pains as they get older just like people do. When we are achy we get out our heating pads or go get a massage. Our pets don’t have that option.

So this self warming mat is really nice to have around for them.

The Achy Paws™ Pet Mat is triple-layered and has an inner layer of Activated Bamboo Charcoal that uses the pets own body heat to bring restorative warmth to achy joints, sooth tired muscles, and reduce soreness.

Since Bamboo charcoal can also fluctuate with the pets temperature to bring cooling relief it will work in all seasons.

Another great thing about this pet mat is that you can machine wash and dry it.  The dryer needs to be set on low heat in the gentle cycle.

Both of my indoor dogs have spent some time on this mat.

My dog on the Achy Paws Pet Mat.The older fur baby seems to like it pretty well. She has gotten on the mat several times. She was up there for quite a while the other day.

Other dog on the Achy Paws Mat.The smaller male dog has been on it a bit too. Not sure if he gets up there because he really likes it or because he is jealous of the other dog! Probably a bit of both.

The mat seems to be really well made and should last a while. Unless the dogs decide to chew on it(the older one still chews on blankets).

These mats come in all sizes so check them out if you have an older pet!

For more information follow The Healing Tree products on Facebook and Twitter. To order a self heating mat for your fur baby visit The Healing Tree website.

Animal Artwork Giveaway

The very generous folks at Fulcrum Gallery are giving my readers the chance to win a piece of Animal Art. The prize will be similar to the piece of artwork in this review.

My Horse Animal Print from Fulcrum Gallery.

This is only open to folks in the U.S. and Canada as it would cost almost $100 to ship to most other places and the prize itself is worth $100 or less. Ends 5/21/2014.

The winner will be able to choose any Animal Art print, canvas, poster or framed art as long as it’s a single item and it’s under $100.

Be careful when picking…I had to go back and pick a smaller size because I wanted to add an additional border to mine. Everything you add raises the price and some of the frames are more expensive than others too. If you want an expensive frame…you will have to go with less expensive items on the other choices.

Beautiful Animal Art From Fulcrum Gallery

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Animals are wonderful things. I love animals. Even the ones that bite, and yes I have been bitten by dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, Guinea pigs, ducks, chickens, and even a lion(a toothless lion but it still hurt).

So when Fulcrum Gallery offered me the chance to review an item from their Animal Art selection I was really excited!

They have LOTS of animals to choose from too. It took me a while. I looked at Elephants, Forest Animals, Kangaroos, and several others and just couldn’t decide.

So I decided to get something for my husband. Which meant horses artwork. He has fallen in love with horses. He isn’t the only one. Horses have a long and illustrious history in art. Starting from caveman times all the way to the present(check out this great article about horses art). That is not surprising as they are beautiful and useful too.

My husband also had a bare wall over his computer which would be a perfect spot for a nice piece of artwork.  So I ordered a picture called Running Horses & Sunbeams.

My Horse Animal Print from Fulcrum Gallery.

This one is close enough you can see a bit of the color in the frame I picked out. It matches the wall perfectly!

The folks at Fulcrum Gallery did a great job making sure it got here with no damage too. They shipped it in a big box.

The big box from Fulcrum Gallery that contained my animal print.

That contained another section of cardboard to hold the print in place and pad it.

The picture sitll in part of the packaging.

On the back it has the little hook thingy you need to hang it up and of course the wire.

This is the bank of the print where they put the items needed to hang it up.

My hubby did the hanging. I think he doesn’t trust me to get things straight.

My horse print on the wall over hubby's computer.

He did a good job. It looks great! The picture fits in this room so well…it’s almost like it was made for the room.

Picture of part of the frame I chose for my print.

I love the frame the print is in. Fulcrum Gallery has a whole lot of frames you can choose from and the little widget shows the print you pick out with the different frames so you can sort of see what it will look like in each one.

And of course it tells you how much that particular frame will cost. I tend to have expensive tastes it seems. All the frames I liked were the more expensive ones! They have many cheaper options too.

You can find Fulcrum Gallery on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. Be sure to follow them to keep up with news and special promotions.

Looking For Egg Recipes

Since I got rid of one of my roosters (and the weather has improved) my hens have started laying again.
A picture of some of my chickens.

I’m getting 6 to 8 eggs a day.Fresh laid eggs from my hens.

I did find one easy recipe online that is basically a baked omelet.

It was on one of the recipe sites and I can’t remember which one. I did not (of course) follow all the instructions for that recipe but what I ended up with is really good.

You mix up a bunch of eggs (I’ve been using 5 or 6). Chop some bell peppers (any and all colors) and onion. Tear up some spinach leaves. Chop up some cheese – I’ve been using a Monterrey and Colby mix.

The instructions I read called for just mixing the stuff up and putting it in the oven.

I have been cooking the onion and bell pepper a bit first and then adding the spinach leaves and cooking them till wilted. Then adding the cheese and pouring the eggs over that and sticking it in the oven.

My husband is loving that. Which is a good thing for him because he doesn’t eat enough vegetables and this is one way of getting him to eat them. Besides eggs are a great source of protein and this is a pretty healthy breakfast! Or dinner even.

I need a few more good recipes that use eggs though. The eggs are already getting ahead of us and when the other hens start to laying more regular we will be swamped…and the neighbors will only take so many.

Do you have any good recipes? Preferably easy to make.

Please leave a comment with a link to any good recipes you know of. Or just tell us how to make it if it is really easy!
