It isn’t easy to find any kind of casual shirt with medium sleeves these days. Most of the ones I see in stores have very short sleeves.
I’m too old and out of shape for those these days. I want longer sleeves to cover the flabby parts of my arms. Sleeves that come down at least halfway to my elbow are a must.
I saw this striped t-shirt and thought it looked nice. It is hard to tell about shirts online though. Just cause they look nice on those skinny models, doesn’t mean they will look good on me.
Or any plus size woman for that matter. This one is supposed to be made for plus sizes, but the model doesn’t look all that big to me.
In any case I decided to try it, and I went for the same color as the model in the picture.
It doesn’t quite fit me the same does it? Of course I’m shorter, which means the shirt comes down farther. I can’t decide if that is good or bad.
The shirt is very comfortable. It is soft and not binding. The material is thin and should be great for hot days of summer. I love the sleeves. It would be nice to have a couple in solid colors. I received a free or discounted product to review.
Remember those commercials? It was for some laundry detergent. I don’t even remember which one, but the ads always showed a woman who was mortified, because her husbands shirts had a “ring around the collar”.
It was years before I even came close to understanding that. I still don’t really get it.
I have never once in my entire life seen anyone go up to another person and check their collar to see if it was clean. I used to wonder if there were places in the world where that actually happened. I figured it had to be a rich people thing.
But then I wondered if those rich people didn’t bath as often, or did really dirty work, because their collars were always getting really dirty, and needed special detergent to clean them.
I think a lot of people must have been thinking something like that. I haven’t seen a commercial like that in years.
Now they have those about the colors. You know the ones that imply that you have to use this “very special” detergent or all your colors will fade, and no one will like you anymore, because you look all drab and dingy.
Which if true, means you been hanging around the wrong people anyway.
AND!! AND! (Just making sure you are paying attention here) once your clothes are drab and dingy you have a most excellent excuse to go shopping!
The green area is a softer non-slip material that helps keep the clothing from slipping off or pulling out of shape.
The design of the hangers also keeps the collars from stretching.
I really like the swivel hooks. If I want to take a dress out of the closet and hang it over the door while dressing, that works with these hangers.
I can hang most of our clothing on these, with the exception of my husbands heaviest winter tops. Those are really thick and heavy, and if you pull too hard taking it off, the hook will break off the hanger.
Yea, I know, my fault. I don’t like doing laundry and I get a bit impatient with it. Especially with the thick heavy stuff that is hard to handle.
I haven’t had any problems with my shirts and blouses.
And these hangers work great for drip drying sweaters.
You will notice that these hangers come in different colors. I have some Green, Purple, and Blue hangers. I like all of them.
They come with a money-back satisfaction guarantee and you can buy them on Amazon.com. I received a free item to review.
Putting some dryer balls in your clothes dryer is one way to save a little bit of money. Every little bit helps, because those cents add up to dollars, and over the life of the balls that can come to quite a bit.
These Feeling Fluffy Dryer Balls should last for at least a thousand loads and probably will last for twice that. You can keep using them until they start to shrink. Actually you can use them after that, but they will not work as well.
These are much better than putting tennis balls in your dryer, which is what folks used to tell people to do (or I was told that anyway).
For one thing these are softer, and won’t damage clothing (except you probably should not use with delicates, unless you have them in a dryer bag).
These balls are also hypoallergenic and have no chemicals, so are safe for people with sensitive skin. They are made of 100% wool, and are very soft and do not make a lot of noise in the dryer.
Besides all that they come with a guarantee: If you are not satisfied just return them for a full refund.
I like these. They do get the clothes dry a bit faster, and fluff them up a bit too. My clothes come out as soft as if I had put one of those dryer sheets in there.
They only problem I have ever had is having one fall out of the dryer when taking clothes out. The ball hits the floor and one of the dogs takes off with it. That only happened once though, I have been a lot more careful to make sure the dogs can’t get them.
No big deal anyway, a bit of slobber never hurt anyone, and the ball came through the experience just fine. Didn’t hurt it at all. I received a free or discounted product to review.
Fall is in the air here in Arkansas. At night anyway. This past week the daytime temperatures have still been in the upper 80’s or even the lower 90’s, but it cools down at night, and the leaves are turning some lovely colors, and much of the grass has started to go dormant too.
Another indication that fall is in the air, is my having sneezing fits. So fall is really in the air! I hope all you allergy sufferers out there are not having too bad a time of it, but we have some nice prizes to help make you feel better.
Each of the prize packages being given away in this hop will be worth at least $25. You can’t win if you don’t enter to be sure to hop on by all the different blogs on the linky (at the bottom of the post) and enter their giveaways.
Here on Simple Wyrdings you can win a prize package that includes a neat head covering from CoolHeads($19.99), and a children’s coloring/activity book($9.99).
If you don’t want to wait to see if you win, just go buy a CoolHead. They are on sale right now for $19.99. It looks like they are sold out of the red trim, but they have several other colors.
My husband is still liking the ones he has (read my review). They do help keep your cool in the summer sun, but I think they will do just as well for winter. They would add an extra layer of protection, especially if you can’t (won’t) wear a scarf. My husband doesn’t like scarfs on the farm because they come unwound, and drag on the ground, or scare the horses, or just get in his way.
The CoolHead would keep the wind off his neck and ears.
They come in several different designs. Some of them are shorter than others.
These are made of cotton and the material feels pretty nice. The one I have is sewn together well, and I didn’t see any loose threads or torn hems. My mother said it was a good top. She is the person in our family that everyone consults when they need sewing done.
I really like the one they sent me. I might have gotten away with a smaller size, but a bit loose is better than too tight.
It is an XXL and it looks pretty good on me.
The color looks good too. It matches one of my dogs as you can see!
I really need a pair of black boots to go with it. Green pants maybe? What do you think?
It is comfortable. I wouldn’t have any problem wearing this out to dinner, or just to a bbq, or even as a house dress.
If I had a few more of them (don’t want to mess it up!) it might even do for every day wear.
They are machine washable and dryer safe, which is a Really Good Thing, in my book.
I like it. I received a free or discounted product to review.
C4 Belts has a color to go with any outfit. There are so many different colors to choose from, that it might take you a while to decide.
Then again you might just decide to get several.
Of course after you choose the belt color, you have to choose the buckle color, and they don’t have to be the same color.
You could get one belt and several buckles to match different outfits.
The buckle does go off and on easy.
I had trouble deciding what color I wanted. I finally went with a glow in the dark belt. Because I’m weird ya know?
I actually just figured that it would be a good thing to have out here in the boonies, for when/if I’m outside at night. I don’t often go out to the road, but if I did a glow in the dark belt would probably keep cars from running over me.
Mostly it is for my husband. He worries if I’m outside too long at night when locking my chickens up, or just out with the dogs, and I figured he would at least be able to see the belt, and know where I am.
And if I keel over with a heart attack or something out there, he would be able to find me quicker. Got to think about stuff like that at my age.
Anyway, the belt and buckle arrived in a neat container with the C4 logo on it. I opened it up and took it out.
The buckle is easily attached to the belt and seems to stay on really well. You would have to pull on it really hard to make it just pull off.
I did not need to make the belt smaller. If I manage to lose the rest of the weight I’m trying to get rid of that will change. If you need it smaller you just cut a bit off the end. Be careful though, once you make it smaller you can’t make it bigger again.
These are wonderful belts. They are waterproof, easy to clean, animal friendly, earth friendly, and they come with a lifetime guarantee.
Besides all that they give back. C4 stands for Choose your Color, Choose your Cause. They give at least 10% of each purchase to one of 4 causes. You get to choose which of those causes gets the 10% from your purchase.
All four of the causes are worth supporting. The choices are The Boys & Girls Club of America, Captain Planet Foundation, Human Rights Campaign, and Best Friends Animal Society.
I like this belt. I like the Company. You should buy a belt. Tell them I sent you. :)
The Hawaiian shirt was a bit too colorful for me, so I opted for the Peace shirt.
I got the large because I figured it would fit at least two of my dogs, and I was right.
It fit the smallest dog a bit big, but it does look cute.
It fit the middle sized dog too.
I decided not to try to put it on the big dog. The big one hasn’t ever had anything put on her like that, and she would fight it. I didn’t want to tussle with her by myself.
Besides which the big dog wouldn’t be wearing it on a regular basis anyway. Most likely the middle dog will.
These are really neat, well made shirts.

The CooLHeaD is made of terry cloth. It is really soft and absorbent. It feels like a really nice towel.
It has an inner band system made out of the sort elastic bands that are in pants and skirts. I don’t know what those are called but they are great at making things fit different size people.
I like that you can get these with different color linings. I wanted green linings, so both me and my husband could (would) use them, so that is what they sent me.
It would be neat to have one in each color, so you would always have one to match your outfit.
I haven’t actually had a chance to try these out, other than just trying it on, because my husband grabbed them as soon as they got here. He was mowing the yard at the time, and he wore one out for that. He has taken one with him every time he leaves the house since then.
He would not stop and let me take better pictures, but you can see it covers his neck better than the hat. He says it catches the sweat before it runs down into his eyes. He loves these. We may have to get a few more of them, since he is gonna wear them out pretty quick.
CooLHeadS also has Trucker Hats, T-Shirts, and accessories (flip-flops, water bottles, and backpacks).
I really like that this company believes in giving back to the community, and that they are part of the Swipe 4 The Kids campaign.
Get a pair of Confidence Panties from Hush Hush™ so you won’t have to worry about leakage again.
These are really nice panties that have an absorbent layer built in, that also includes odor protection.
That makes them really great for light leakage. You know, those times when you sneeze, or laugh, or trip over a chicken that insists on getting right under your feet.
These are really nice for when you are going out, because they are not at all bulky. No one can tell you are wearing anything different.
They are washable which means you can save that money you were spending on the disposable ones, and they come in all different styles(brief, bikini, hip hugger, thong, rollover, etc.) and several colors.
You can also find panties from Hush Hush™ on QVC.com.
