Tropical Traditions offered me the chance to review thier Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil and I jumped at it.
I have seen information about Tropical Traditions on other sites and all thier products looked good. I also love coconut so I figured coconut oil just had to be good!
I was right too. I love the smell of the oil. And it is also pretty in the jar. It is a white color and it is actually hard like butter unless it gets too warm.
I mostly used it to fry things as I don’t do a lot of bakeing. I did however use in some bisquets one morning instead of the butter I usually use. My grandmother used to just put regular grease in hers…so I figured this was bound to be better than that!
The bisquets came out really good too. I couldn’t really tell a difference in the taste. They were good.
I have fried eggs in the coconut oil and I love the way they smell as they are cooking. I’m thinking the coconut oil is better for that than the canola I usually use. I’m not sure if there is really a taste to it or if it is my imagination because of liking the smell…but they do taste good!
You can watch this really interesting video about how they discovered and started produceing the coconut oil.
I really like the fact that they employ a lot of families to help make the oil instead of sending it to some automated factory.
These are wonderful products which smell really good! They remind me of sunny days by the pool when I was little where my mom and aunt had this coconut sun tan lotion.Very happy memories. The smell makes me feel good.
It also feels good when you rub it on your body. I have very dry skin on my elbows and knees and ankles and this makes them feel so much better! I like that is isn’t greasy. It soaks in so you don’t have to worry about it rubbing off anything(or anybody) you bump into(or hug).
I also like that it is made with organic coconut oil. Coconut oil has natural antioxidants and is easily absorbed into the skin. Basa Body products help promote healing and gives your skin a healthy more youthful appearance.
It really does. When I use it on parts of me that are starting to look a bit wrinkled it smooths the skin out…makes me look younger…for a while! It would be nice if it lasted forever but I’ll take what I can get!
This company also gets their coconut oil from women in Mombasa, Kenya who are working hard to feed their families by producing virgin, organic coconut oil. Basa Body is helping to provide a sustainable income for these women and also donates 10% of its profits to humanitarian projects in Kenya.
In November the company will be launching its updated signature skin-care products and a new website. They are giving away some nice freebies, including products and skin care recipes.
They have very generously agreed to give away two bottles of the Basa Body Coconut Oil Body Lotion to my readers. So two of you lucky folks will be able to try this great smelling lotion for yourselves!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
