My husband has been looking for new equipment for his horse, and he needs just about everything. This Kavallerie Horse Anti-Slip Saddle Pad sounds like it would be good, especially for riding in the summer.
It has all those holes for the air to go through, which will help keep the horse from getting too hot. It is made of thick gel material which provides cushion from the saddle.
The weather set in here right when I got the saddle pad, so we haven’t been able to actually ride with it yet.
We did manage to put it on one of the horses to see if it would slip while lunging.
It did not slip. Then the saddle was put on.
Even after about 15 minutes in the round pen there was no slipping, and the pad did not pull the hair.
The pad has not yet been used with a rider though. It has been way too wet and cold here. No one wants to actually stay out long enough to ride.
I’ll be posting again in the spring when it is warm enough and dry enough for them to actually ride. We will hopefully try it with a western saddle as well as the English.
It seems like a really good saddle pad, and it is easy to clean. I received a free product to review.
Small LED Flashlights will fit just about anywhere without taking up a lot of room, and they are not heavy. I like to have one in my purse, cause you never know when you might get stuck out somewhere in the dark.
If you have a flat tire while driving out in the boonies at night you really want a good light.
The BYBlight Cree LED Flashlight has three modes, bright, brighter, and strobe. You can also zoom the light out so it covers more area, or tighten it up to show a small area.
I have been using the dim light zoomed out, when I go to check on my chickens in the evening. The chickens will be roosting and a regular flashlight gets them all upset, they fuss at me something awful. I’m glad they don’t speak English because I’m pretty sure all that cackling would translate into a really good cussing out.
The dim diffused setting on this flashlight doesn’t bother them though. It is still bright enough that I can see if all the chickens are there, and no bad critters have snuck in.
These come in a set of 4 so we have them in several rooms of the house. One in the bedroom, one by the computers, and one in the kitchen. Next time the lights go out I won’t have to hunt for a flashlight.
My husband took off with one of them. He has it in his truck. I received a free or discounted product to review.
It has 4 layers. The outer cover feels like a heavy fabric. I haven’t actually seen the other layers but this diagram shows that there is a PVC layer on top of the third layer, and that the inner layer is double latex.
That should help keep the hose from busting so quick. They also reinforced the connecting areas so maybe that will hold together a lot longer.
The instructions said that if it freezes that could damage the inner layer so I haven’t been able to use the hose a lot yet. It is still freezing here at night, and haven’t had a lot of use for a hose yet.
I did use it to clean out all my chicken waterers and fill them up. My husband used it to clean off his lawn mower after he mulched the leaves that were left out back.
Using the hose in the chicken yard did expose a problem with our pump though. The water pressure out there isn’t what it should be. It took a few minutes to fill the hose. My husband says it is the pump and that he will fix it.
In any case the hose easily reached the other side of the chicken yard, and could have gone farther. This particular hose is 50′ long. They do make longer or shorter ones.
I am hoping to get a 25′ one for my garden area.
The hose comes with 5 extra washers, an 8 way spray nozzle, and a hanger for the hose. I really like the hanger. It will be nice to have a way to put the hose up off the ground after using it.

I’m from the south so much more into iced tea. This water bottle can handle that too. It will keep drinks cold for up to 24 hours.
I love this water bottle. It is pretty, and it is also the best quality water bottle I have ever had. It is really nice.
It feels good when you are holding it.
And of course you look good when you are drinking from it. Some of us more or less than others.
I never tried to take a selfie while taking a drink before. It isn’t easy. And my hair was a mess. The bottle does look good though don’t it?
I have carried it around for more than a week now. It has gotten bumped on the counters, knocked into the floorboard of the car, and forgotten. I did eventually go looking for it. The water was still cold when I found it a few hours later. I have not left it out to see if it actually stays cold for 24 hours but I see no reason to think it won’t.
It has not dripped, or leaked, or sweat on me yet either. I did mention that I love this bottle right?
It is made of food grade stainless steel, and has two layers. The lid is BPA free and the bottle does not have a plastic lining.
It is sold on Amazon.com and you can buy it on the U.S. website or the U.K. website and has a 100% money back guarantee.
It has a long flexible tube so it is easier to get it on the valve stem. You can get this gauge on there without any contortions at all.
My husband loves this thing. He took it out of the box as soon as it got here, and went out to check the air in my tires.
The front tires all needed air, and he put air in them, using the TireTek gauge to check and make sure there was enough air.
He then informed me that he was gonna keep the new gauge in his truck. So I still don’t have one of my own. Yet.
This is a really nice product. It is well made and has a big face that is easy to see.
The box says the display dial is 2″. It has the rubber around it to protect it from getting banged up, which is a good thing, because my husbands stuff tends to get a workout.
The box also says that all TireTek products are made to meet the ANSI B40.1 Grade B accuracy standard, and are 100% tested and approved, and can be found worldwide. It has a measurement range of 0-60 PSI, and has an integrated bleed button.
I really liked this tire pressure gauge. Too bad I didn’t get to keep it. On the other hand, now my husband has no excuse for not keeping my tires properly inflated for me. So I won’t have to do it myself. I’m cool with that. I received a free or discounted product to review. #FlexiPro #spons
The Acquapura Personal Water Filter Straw is a great item to have around the house in case of emergencies. If there is a major emergency, and you end up running out of clean water, then you will need to clean your water before you drink it.
In a big emergency, like an earthquake, you might not have any way to boil water either, so having a filter that will get the bad stuff out of the water, is going to be really important.
Drinking water that has bacteria in it can make you seriously sick. You really don’t want to have to do that, if you can help it. You don’t want your kids doing it either.
These personal water filer straws come with everything you need. You only have to open it up and attach the prefilter to the bottom and start using the straw. It works just like a regular straw, you suck the water up through it. On the way through the water goes through three different filters, that make the water safe to drink.
The activated carbon granules in the carbon filter also contains Ionic Silver which is antibacterial, and is supposed to be a tissue healing agent.
After first use this personal water filter should last for a year, or for 1500 liters. If you haven’t used it, it should last, in storage, for 3 years.
Those of you who like to go camping, and hiking should carry one of these with you too. You never know when you might get lost, or have an accident out in the wilds.
I want one for each of our cars, and at least two for the house. Just in case. We do live on a fault line, and the big one is gonna happen sometime.
What do you think? I received a free or discounted product to review.
The CooLHeaD is made of terry cloth. It is really soft and absorbent. It feels like a really nice towel.
It has an inner band system made out of the sort elastic bands that are in pants and skirts. I don’t know what those are called but they are great at making things fit different size people.
I like that you can get these with different color linings. I wanted green linings, so both me and my husband could (would) use them, so that is what they sent me.
It would be neat to have one in each color, so you would always have one to match your outfit.
I haven’t actually had a chance to try these out, other than just trying it on, because my husband grabbed them as soon as they got here. He was mowing the yard at the time, and he wore one out for that. He has taken one with him every time he leaves the house since then.
He would not stop and let me take better pictures, but you can see it covers his neck better than the hat. He says it catches the sweat before it runs down into his eyes. He loves these. We may have to get a few more of them, since he is gonna wear them out pretty quick.
CooLHeadS also has Trucker Hats, T-Shirts, and accessories (flip-flops, water bottles, and backpacks).
I really like that this company believes in giving back to the community, and that they are part of the Swipe 4 The Kids campaign.
This Hori Hori Knife really is an ideal gardening tool. It is a multi-purpose tool.
It is really good for transplanting smaller plants, and works for bigger plants, just not as easily. It has measurements on it so you can see how deep the hole is. The measurements are fairly large too, so they are easy to see even for those of us who tend to forget our glasses.
It also has a serrated edge that can cut roots, or small branches. It can also cut open bags of potting soil and mulch really easy. It can cut through rope and those plastic ties you use on plants too.
After you use it cut open your potting soil, it can be used to scoop the soil out of the bag. It doesn’t hold as much as a regular hand shovel, but it works just fine, so what if it takes a couple extra scoops.
I would rather carry around one tool that can be used for everything than have to carry around several different tools. The things get heavy, and if you need to carry plants and soil too, you end up having to make several trips.
The Hori Hori Knife comes with a really nice carrying case. You can attach the case to your belt just like a regular knife, if you want.
It has a stainless steel blade and is very sturdy, and comes with a risk free warranty :
“Try it out for a full 30 days, if you don’t feel it’s helped make your gardening life easier, simply return it and we’ll gladly refund your money. No hard feelings.“
I haven’t had to use it much this year, because most of my garden was put in before I got it, but it is going to get a lot of work next spring.
I like it.

Even if it is raining. I know because it started raining right after we went out and lit one of these logs and it kept right on burning. It wasn’t a gully washer but it was getting pretty wet. The rain stopped after about 5 minutes though so I can’t say how long it would have kept burning.
I really like the idea behind these firelogs. They are made from 100% recycled waxed cardboard, and the manufacturer says that “Enviro–Log Firelogs burn cleaner, emitting 30 percent less greenhouse gases, 80 percent less carbon monoxide and 86 percent less creosote. They also generate 50 percent more heat per pound that firewood.”
We had a fireplace when I was young and we went through a whole lot of wood. I really like the idea of burning recycled cardboard instead of cutting down more trees. And if they cause less pollution that is even better.
The Firestarters are made from recycled wax and they smell really good. They do burn really easy and would make starting fires just about anywhere a whole lot easier.
We took a Firelog and a Firestarter out back and used them. I cooked some hot dogs while we were out there. We did that because it has been raining here a lot lately. Every time we planned to cook out it was raining, so we finally just did it anyway.
The Firelog started up easy, and it does get hot.
The logs come in 3 lb and 5 lb sizes. The bigger ones last longer. You can get the large logs in packs of4,6, or 9 and they usually cost $20 or less (depends on where you buy them), the smaller ones only come in packs of 6 or 9 and usually cost less than $16 (depending on where you buy them.)
The firestarters come in packs of 8 or 24 and usually cost $12 or less (depends on where to buy).
They are available at many local stores including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Rite Aid and Walmart. You can also buy them online at the Enviro-Log website, Lowes.com, and Amazon.com.
