Tracfone has some of the least expensive phones you can get. They are great for summer use. Especially if you need several in order to keep up with the whole family. You could spend a fortune on cell phones and contracts if you are not careful.
They have brand name Phones including Motorola, Kyocera, LG, Nokia, and Samsung. The one I have is a Motorola. It is an older model and I have been thinking of getting one of the newer ones.
We used ours when we made that trip to Michigan a couple of months ago. It worked all the way up there. We did not run into any dead zones on our trip. So I believe them when they claim to have great nationwide coverage in the U.S. The folk in t his video agree :
You can also make international long distance calls to over 60 international destinations directly from your TracFone at no extra cost. TracFone is the only wireless service where you can call internationally for the same price as normal calls. And in Mexico and Canada friends and family can use a local number to call you on your TracFone! This is great for families with members who travel out of the country.
You can also get “Double minutes for the life of your phone” with some of the phones. With other phones you have to buy that separately but it only costs 19.99. I got one of those cards a while back. It was definitely worth it. It doubles whatever minutes you put on there each time.
I also love that you can just buy however minutes you need (or want) and just tell everyone to make do with that number of minutes. That way you don’t have someone running up a huge bill. And if you need fewer minutes sometimes than others then you are not stuck paying for them anyway. I love not having a contract. These folks do too : real TracFone customers. The code cards are available just about everywhere. Many retail stores carry them including Wal-mart and Dollar stores. You can even buy minutes online. Very convenient!
